From Victory Review, May 1994:

Learn about Alaska the easy way! Listen to Nathanson's charmingly enhanced CD. Drawn from his sixteen years of living in Alaska and working in the bush, these songs dedicate his love for the area, with a bit of a twist. Inside the cover, instead of actual lyrics, you get the title of the song and a short bio of where the idea came from. These previews read as wittily as the songs themselves. Nathanson's lyrics are clever with strong instrumental backing. He gets a lot of help through the album with the support of eighteen other musicians and vocalists, but the songs are all by Lou. Crossing from bluegrass to dixieland to country, this is a frolic in Alaska without the cold (or the mosquitos!). (Nicki De)
